Barry Hurt

Barry Hurt had a long career in Texas as a band director, winning four state championships and multiple sweepstakes awards. Barry has had an enormous impact on small-school bands as an educator, arranger, and as a founding member of the Association of Texas Small School Bands. After retiring and moving to Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Barry decided to start writing marching show music for many of the small-school band directors that he helped throughout his career. In addition to writing music, Barry is an active clinician and adjudicator throughout the country.
