Over the past few marching seasons, I started compiling a list of quick and easy changes that directors could make to help their bands look more sophisticated. That list turned into the idea for this video, which I hope will benefit you and your group. Some directors or designers might disagree with some of my points in the video, and that’s okay. These are merely my opinions after watching and studying hundreds of groups over multiple marching contests.
If you don’t know me personally, I was a band director for eleven years. I started writing marching shows at the beginning of my career, and with my writing, I enjoyed studying and helping bands at smaller schools, as well as young and developing bands. I eventually became so busy with my writing, I decided to make it a full-time career. My goal from the beginning was not only to just write music but to help my clients be successful while enriching students through music.
This video is my first step in using something other than my music to help band directors, and I'm excited about the possibilities of what else I can do to help. I’ll be periodically sending emails with helpful content - such as free music, helpful tricks I’ve picked up from my clients, exciting things I’m working on, and hopefully more videos like this. Of course, you’re always welcome to unsubscribe from these updates, and let me know what I can do to help YOU!
